The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, or the B&O Railroad was the first common carrier railroad and the oldest railroad in the United States, with its first section opening in 1830. During the Civil War, the B&O Railroad served as the Union's lifeline and supply chain. At the end of 1970, the B&O operated 5,552 miles of road and 10,449 miles of track, which connected the Great Lakes with the Chesapeake Bay. Please join ZDC, ZID, and ZOB on October 22nd from 2300z-0300z to honor the railroad that kept America moving forward.
